From Saturday October 7th the race start time will be changing. October Racing is on Saturday MORNINGS 10.30 for the start hooter. We’ve brought the start gun time forward to 10.30am, so you’ll need to leave the beach by 10. And, if like me it takes you 30 minutes to get ready, you’ll need to be at the Club by 9.30. So it will be just like junior sailing was during the summer. We’ll see how it goes but the aim is to get everyone back to the Club House by 1.00 so that the afternoon is available for a sociable lunch, chat, bimbling - or to take the wife shopping (whoops – sexist!), or maybe a snooze.  All this is for October 7th, 14th and 28th. (Not sure of October 21st because of the GP14 Open.) If you haven’t got a boat of you...

I'm sure there was some sunshine? There was wasn't there? Well, its been a heck of a season so far huh? Junior sail goes from strength to strength, our new 'Women on the Water' (W.O.W) receiving national interest via 'Yachts and yachting' and various RYA press reports, Adult and improver training seeing plenty of keen sailors out on the water, racing numbers picking up and seeing a lot of fun being had by all taking part, loads of new members joining us through the year and loads of new/novice sailors stepping into their own very first boats during the last few months....and who can forget the amazing job Paul and Jo did on renovating their Laser2 - from buried in the bushes for the last few years to being out on the water looking like a n...

In September there are two very special Saturday racing days. The Richard Lightwood trophy races are on Saturday 2nd September. These commemorate Richard Lightwood, an enthusiastic sailor with the Club who died suddenly in 2006 aged 27 from the cardiac condition HOCM. The same sudden death had already struck down his twin brother. In celebration of these two talented sportsmen I I hope we’ll be able to launch a good fleet. Richard’s sailing motto, which is engraved on the cup, is reported as, “If you haven’t broken anything, you haven’t sailed hard enough.” But we don’t expect this to be applied to the club boats! We will run 3 short races the best two results to count. Of course, if you’d like to donate to either of the two relevant cha...

Don't forget that you can purchase your very own MPSC clothing from our very special partner 'Camouflage Cow'. There's a whole range of items to choose from, such as Waterproof Jackets, T-Shirts, Hoodies, Polo shirts, Gilets and caps. There are samples of many of the available items on the clothes rack in the clubhouse, so feel free to try things on for sizing ideas - but please don't take anything home as these are Samples only that were provided to myself from Ray, the owner of Camouflage Cow. Obviously we'll soon be going into the Autumn season, so maybe a hoodie could be a good idea? or a T-Shirt to remind all you Juniors of your fantastic season this year? How about simply being able to strut your funky stuff around the club in you...
