Welcome to Manor Park Sailing Club.
Situated in idyllic surroundings in the Staffordshire countryside just a stones throw from the village of Kings Bromley.
We have 3 interconnected lakes to sail on totalling approx. 75 Acres of Water.
Originally founded in 1982 when running as an active quarry under Blue Circle Ltd., the club evolved and the quarry ceased operations to become the Manor Park Sailing Club of today.
With over 100 boat parking spaces, 2 launching beeches and jetties as well as a well equipped clubhouse and galley, Manor Park welcomes everyone of all ages and abilities.
We run a wide series of events throughout the year, take a look at our calendar on this website.
Manor Park has as a membership of over 200 and also hosts two radio model clubs - Click on their logo below for a link to their websites.
Manor Park Radio Sailing Club (MPRSC) meet beside a beautiful lake to enjoy racing 1 metre yachts round buoys to the same rules as the full size dinghies. From our raised grassy control area we speedily tack and gybe around the course, in close competition, with 12 races every meeting. We meet at 11.30 for 12.00 every Wednesday, at weekends alternating between Saturdays in the Winter hours and Sundays in the Summer. Allowing for coffee breaks, yacht adjustments and helpful chat we normally finish around 15.00.
Rugeley Model Boat Club (RMBC) moved to Manor Park in March 2017 following the demise of Rugeley Power Station. They are a small friendly club that also sail on this beautiful lake but with the smaller kit-built yacht class known as Victoria's and have regular informal races in the summer. In calm weather the RMBC also sail scale models, often built from scratch with fine details, often including "lights & smoke". A few medium-fast electric model boats are also sailed. We sail nearly every Monday from 14.00 to about 16.00 but will often stay later in the summer. A complete annual program is given on our website.
